Blueberry Camembert Pizza Recipe
Introduction
This Camembert blueberry pizza is a unique choice to serve serve your family or guests with. The sweetness of blueberries pairs fantastically with the rich, savory Camembert cheese.
For this recipe, I used a pre-made sourdough crust. In case you don’t have one, I have some pizza crust recipes you can find here, just be sure to increase the dough by 1.5x to 2x.
Camembert
For this recipe, you will need to acquire 8 oz of Camembert cheese in the rind. Soft cheeses, such as Camembert and Brie, can be difficult for first-timers to extract from the rind. If you make the mistake of trying to open the cheese and separate it from the rind, you’ll find that it is very difficult to separate the two, and you’ll have a mess on your hands. Unfortunately, this is a great way to waste your Camembert. When it comes to removing the rind from soft cheeses like Camembert, check out this WikiHow article. In this article, it describes how to remove the rind from Brie. However, it works the exact same way for Camembert. With the right technique, extracting and consuming Camembert is easy. Simply place the cheese in freezer 30 minutes prior to using, then cut off the rind using your knife.
Camembert is like Brie’s earthier, edgier cousin. While the main difference between Camembert and Brie is the fact that Brie has added cream, you’d be surprised to know that Camembert is actually the richer of the two. During the cheese-making process, Brie has extra cream added to the cheese while Camembert does not.
To use your Camembert after extraction, microwave for about 30 seconds in a microwave-safe bowl. After the Camembert is somewhat liquefied, spread it evenly around the crust.
Blueberries
In this recipe, I used about 3 teaspoons of frozen blueberries. The marble-like visual effect on the pizza caused by the blueberry juice that gets trapped between the blueberries falling on the cheese. Evenly place your blueberries around the pizza using your hands. Fresh blueberries are also a great topping for this pizza as well.
