Salmon Pizza with Goat Mozzarella
Introduction
This salmon pizza with goat mozzarella is a delicious way to get your family to eat some fish! This is a palatable way of getting in some salmon in your diet for the extra omega threes.
A quick and easy recipe, that takes less than 30 minutes, what’s not to like? Fast, easy, healthy, and delicious!
For this recipe, I used a pre-made sourdough crust. I have my own pizza crust recipes in case you don’t have any. You can find these recipes here. Just be sure to up the dough amount by 1.5 to 2x.
Goat Mozzarella
Goat cheese is an appetizing alternative to cow’s milk cheeses. Additionally, goat cheese is less inflammatory and has less calories than other cow milk cheeses. Goat mozzarella itself is very mild and doesn’t taste goat-y at all!
Using your hands, crumble the goat cheese and spread evenly around the pizza. Alternatively, grate the cheese over the pizza until satisfied with the amount.
Pizza Sauce
To add the sauce, scoop out five tablespoons of pizza sauce on the crust, then spread as evenly as possible. Be sure to leave about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch for the ends of the crust!
If you only have tomato sauce to use, then add 3/4 tsp garlic powder and 3/4 tsp onion powder, or chopped onions. Add 3/4 tsp of Italian seasoning to the sauce and you’re golden! Just mix it all thoroughly, then place on pizza.
Toppings
For this recipe, I recommend using your fingers to sprinkle the Italian seasoning. This way, you won’t accidentally pour too much in one spot, which can ruin the pizza.
In general, when making pizza, fresh ingredients are king. Use them whenever possible. For example, minced garlic or diced onions may be used to replace the garlic and onion powders.
