My einkorn waffles are made in the shape of Texas using my Texas-shaped waffle maker. It takes about 4-5 tablespoons of chocolate waffle batter to fill the waffle maker completely. However, depending on your waffle maker, it may take you more or less. Be careful to not overfill your waffle maker with batter. Use a tablespoon to fill up the waffle iron until it’s filled.
These chocolate einkorn waffles are cheap and fast, the best of both worlds! They are best served with powdered sugar, honey, maple syrup, or jam.
Einkorn
Einkorn is by far my number one ancient grain flour to bake food with. The chocolate waffles, made with einkorn flour, have an amazing texture! I have more einkorn waffle recipes for you to check out here. In my opinion, einkorn is also the best ancient grain flour, for pancakes too. I have made many einkorn flour pancakes recipes for you to click on here.
Einkorn is best known for being a type of ancient grain that is more advantageous for people with wheat sensitivities to digest. Einkorn flour only contains 14 chromosomes, which is much less than the modern wheat of today. The gluten-sensitive members of my household tend to do better when using ancient grains such as einkorn, spelt, and rye. However, you should be careful and talk to a medical professional first if this is something you’re looking into.
If you use einkorn flour often, I recommend purchasing einkorn berries in 50lb bags. It is about 20% of the cost per pound compared to buying 2lb bags.
