Cinnamon Einkorn Waffles
These einkorn waffles taste great! The waffle batter for this recipe is super simple to make, there’s absolutely no reason to spend the extra money on boxed waffles. These waffles are incredibly filling, and you only need one or two to feel like you’re full!
I like to make my waffles in the shape of Texas using a Texas-shaped waffle maker. It takes about 5 tbsp for me to fill my waffle maker. However, based on shape, it may take you more or less. Be cautious as not to overfill your waffle maker. Use a large spoon to fill the waffle iron with batter until full.
These waffles are affordable and quick, the best of both worlds! They are best served with powdered sugar, honey, maple syrup, or jam.
Einkorn
Einkorn is by far my #1 favorite ancient grain flour to bake with. Einkorn flour waffles have a great texture! Einkorn is the best ancient grain flour, in my opinion, for pancakes as well. I have made many kinds of einkorn flour pancakes for you to check out here.
Einkorn is known as a kind of ancient grain that is better for people with wheat sensitivities to digest. Einkorn flour contains only 14 chromosomes, which is much less than the wheat of today. For the gluten-sensitive members of my household, they do better consuming ancient grains such as einkorn, spelt, and rye. However, you should be cautious and talk to a medical professional first if this is something you’re looking into.
