This spicy tuna pizza recipe is a delicious meal to make for dinner! This recipe scores medium-low on the spiciness rating, and is a real crowd pleaser. I’m honestly surprised that spicy tuna pizza isn’t a bigger thing, at least in my country!
This spicy tuna pizza recipe is highly adjustable to your own personal tastes!
For low-heat spiciness: Replace sriracha sauce amount to 1 tsp and add only 2 tbsp of jalapeno.
For medium-high spiciness: Replace sriracha sauce amount to 2 tbsp and add 4 tbsp of jalapeno.
For a high-level of spiciness: Replace the amount of sriracha sauce to 4 tbsp, and add 5 tbsp of jalapeno.
Let’s Talk Ingredients!
-
Cheese
I used a shredded mozzarella for making this recipe, but ideally the best cheese to use is a fresh mozzarella that’s been torn into smaller pieces. I don’t recommend anything but mozzarella for this recipe, other cheeses don’t blend with the tuna taste as well.
-
Tuna
I recommend both albacore and skipjack for this recipe. Other tuna varieties may work well with this pizza, but haven’t been experimented with.
-
Pizza Crust
I used a pre-made sourdough crust for this recipe. This cuts down on time needed to create the pizza. However, if you don’t have a crust already made, you can make your own with these recipes I’ve already made here. I made these recipes to be as easy, simple, and fast as possible.
-
Jalapenos
For the jalapenos, you have a variety of options available to you. Can can either dice them yourself, drain the jalapenos from a can, or rehydrate freeze dried jalapenos. For me, I let the freeze dried jalapenos sit in water for ten minutes before draining the water. However, when it comes to incorporating anything flavorful in a recipe, You are going to want it to be as fresh as possible for the best results.
