Preheat oven to 350.
In a small skillet, cook the butter at medium heat.
When the butter is brown, remove pan and place in into one bowl.
Mix all dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.
Stir butter to make it cool faster.
Once butter temperature has dropped, add vanilla extract and stir together.
Crack in bowl and beat egg into ingredients.
Both sift and stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a cohesive dough is formed.
Put baking paper on baking sheet.
Once the dough is formed, make 1-inch balls.
Roll cookie dough balls in 1/4 cup of granulated sugar.
Bake cookies for ten minutes on the bottom rack, then bring them to the top rack for the last two minutes.
Best served warm.
