Swiss Cheese White Pizza

Swiss Cheese White Pizza Recipe

Introduction

This Swiss cheese white pizza recipe was a family-favorite and was gone fairly quickly! Most of my family doesn’t care for Swiss cheese much at all, so I’m very proud of myself.

This Swiss cheese white pizza recipe is very quick and easy to make. All in all, this recipe takes less than 30 minutes to make, much of which is baking time!

I used a pre-made sourdough crust for making this pizza. If you do not have an already made crust, check out my pizza crust recipes here.

Swiss Cheese

I used about 2-3 oz of Swiss cheese for this recipe. Swiss cheese can be a bit too strong for some people, and not everyone enjoys having Swiss cheese on it’s own. This aftertaste is largely counteracted by lightly sprinkled Italian seasoning place on top of the pizza.

If you do not have shredded Swiss cheese, tear the cheese into small pieces and place evenly around the pizza instead. Swiss cheese is very easy to work with, and will crumble in your hands.

Butter

I’ve found that the butter sauce really balances out the strong flavors of Swiss cheese. The pizza itself is not too greasy, even with this buttery addition. In addition, the butter acts almost as a delicious surrogate for pizza sauce.

Toppings

The Italian seasoning in this recipe is extremely important, as it helps to balance the aftertaste of Swiss cheese. It honestly makes the pizza.

I recommend spreading all seasonings with your fingers, as accidentally pouring too much in one spot can drastically alter the taste of the pizza in a negative way. Sprinkle lightly, evenly around the pizza.

Generally speaking, when making pizza, fresh ingredients, while not always available, are best. Minced garlic or diced onions can be used to replace the garlic and onion powders.
